front IMG 4738The fifth round of 2013 WJCC with 195 players from 52 countries is over at 21:25 p.m. In the open category, five out of the first six boards ended in draws, whereas GM S.P. Sethuraman, against IM Andrey Stukopin, gained the day with black pieces of a good opening and a forceful game on the third board.

Although Alexander Ipatov performed a fabulous and interesting game, the rating favorite Yu Yangyi proved to be a good defensive player with his 19...Rac8 and 21...Nxd4 moves to equalize the game on the first board.

The game between Vidit ve Duda on the second board finished in a draw in spite of all the sacrificed pieces.

Among the Turkish players, Batuhan Dastan had an easy defeat with his opponent's miserable moves such as 10.Ne2 and 11.c3.

Vahap Sanal won against Mustafa Berkay and has 3,5 points now. Cemil Can Ali Marandi missed the 16...Rc8 move and lost the game.

Atilla Koksal Yuksel keeps surprising us by defeating his opponent with 2350 rating.

IM Batuhan Dastan, IM Vahap Sanal, IM Burak Firat, CM Atillla Koksal Yuksel, CM Cankut Emiroglu, CM Ege Koksal, Sergen Atay and Ahmet Eren Topac are the winners of the day among the Turkish players.

In the Girls category, 6 players with 3,5 points settled their accounts with each other. The winners of really very struggling games were WGM Alina Kashlinskaya, WIM Aulia Warda Medina and WGM Irina Bulmaga. These three masters are sharing the top now.

Alina Kashlinskaya with black pieces had a pleasant defeat by tricking her opponent many times. Medina defeated her opponent with pressure all along the game. Irina Bulmaga took the advantage of the game against her Chinese opponent who had some tactical mistakes.

Meri Arabidze, Cori Deysi and Wang Jue proved once more to be in the struggle.

Cansu Soylemez, Lara Micoogullari, Gamze Nur Guney were the winners among the Turkish players tonight.
