Closing Ceremony
IMG 1512
The closing ceremony started at 18.00 at TheNess Hotel. In his speech Garry Kasparov stated that "Thanks for inviting me to this event. I am really honored to be here today. The last time I attended such championship was thirty three years ago, when I was professional in Dortmund in 1980. When I looked at the final results of the tournament, I was a little bit shocked. I saw a great list of Grandmasters and İnternational masters all with boys and girls. I had 10 and a half points out of 13 rounds. I don't know what is the consolation of Grandmaster Ipatov who was with this result on the second place in this tournament. So, it is really amazing what's happening with this tournament because I would believe that the true strength of the players, organization are shown in the critical situation. And you couldn't find more critical situation that is happening with this championship where the original location was not suitable to play.
